Understanding Timesheet Rule Settings in SuiteProjects Pro
Timesheet Rules help control how users create, submit, and manage timesheets. The following settings allow administrators to customize system behavior for common timesheet scenarios.
Ignore Rules on Submission of Timesheets with Individually Rejected Time Entries
What this setting does
When enabled, this setting ignores a user’s personal Timesheet Rules when they resubmit a timesheet that contains individually rejected time entries from a previously submitted timesheet.
When to use it
Enable this option if you want users to be able to quickly correct and resubmit rejected time entries without being blocked by their personal timesheet rules (such as minimum hours or required days).
Example
An approver rejects two time entries on an employee’s submitted timesheet. The employee corrects those entries and resubmits the timesheet. With this setting enabled, the employee’s personal Timesheet Rules are bypassed during the resubmission process, allowing the corrected timesheet to be submitted successfully.
Late Timesheet Alert for Rejected Timesheets
What this setting does
When enabled, users with timesheets in Rejected status continue to receive late timesheet reminder alerts.
When to use it
Enable this option if you want to remind users that a rejected timesheet still requires action before it is considered complete.
Example
A user’s weekly timesheet is rejected by their manager. If the user has not corrected and resubmitted it, the system continues sending late timesheet reminders until the timesheet is resubmitted.
Remember the Last Used New Timesheet Form Settings
What this setting does
When enabled, the system remembers the values a user selected when creating their most recent new timesheet. These remembered values become the default selections the next time the user opens the New Timesheet form, replacing the system’s default form values.
When to use it
Enable this option for users who frequently create timesheets with the same settings, as it reduces repetitive data entry.
Example
A user creates a timesheet using a specific subsidiary, project, and date range. The next time they create a new timesheet, those same selections are automatically pre-populated, saving time and reducing the need to re-enter the same information.
