Grouping Multiple Fixed Fee Charges Within an OpenAir Invoice Layout

Business case: Client has multiple fixed fee charges with the same description but with different services and needs the fixed charges to appear as 1 charge on the Invoice.

Challenge: Due to multiple charge services, there is no option to group charge by description, only service.  Group by task is an option but Task field is not visible on a fixed fee charge.

Solution: Despite task/milestone not being visible on the fixed fee charge, it is stored in the database.  If you create a single milestone with a client facing description, then create multiple fixed billing rules against the single milestone.  Each Fixed billing rule can have a separate service and even separate description.  When the fixed charges are created, add to an invoice layout that subtotals by task with ‘Rollup’ option checked. Multiple charges with different services will show on invoice as 1 charge with Milestone description.
