The October 2019 release and associated features were recently deployed to your production environment. While some features are not usable unless enabled via internal switch, others are auto-enabled. All of these new features enhance the user experience in OpenAir.

#1 Redesigned User Experience

UI4 is being released in phases and this release includes additional enhancements to the new user experience and interface. Previous phases left unused space at the header of the page; the October release capitalizes on the real estate and consolidates the record header in the previously unused space. The new header is available in several record types and includes commonly used features in the header area such as project progress, or overall percent complete. In addition to the header changes, enhanced list views and column filters have been added to additional screens.

#2 Help center Welcome Screen and New Resources

As the help center has been built out to be more of a resource for OpenAir guides, the addition of two new tabs, Additional Resources, and What’s New. The additional resources tab which includes quick reference links to training webinars from releases as well as a consolidated location for user guides. Help Center access is enabled via internal switch, globally, and access is controlled via role permission.

#3 API Support for [multiple options]

Through a combination of features from the April 2019 release (Script Support for Outbound Calls to External APIs) plus this release (those features which begin with ‘API Support for….’), OpenAir now allows for records in other systems to be read, created, updated, and deleted directly from within an OpenAir script. What does this ultimately mean? Integrations are possible between OpenAir and other systems without having to use a third-party integration tool.

#4 Project Center Outline View

This feature is a combination of the phase/task outline view and the phase/task worksheet view. The project center outline view is enabled via role permission and requires at least Phase 2 of UI4 to be enabled, via internal switch, as well as inline editing in list views and project center. The project center outline views allow for the creation and modification of project plans, including phases, tasks, and milestones directly in the view.

#5 NetSuite Connector Status Screen

Any organization using NetSuite and with a NetSuite-OpenAir integration in place will be pleased to learn that you can now view the status and the history of integration runs from within the OpenAir UI. Alongside the current related links is now an option to view the Status. Clicking on the Status link will display the data in the new list view format. Having a log of the historical data will provide administrators better insight into the overall status of the integration.
