How to Delete Charge Stages in SuiteProjects Pro
Deleting a Charge Stage is necessary when it is no longer required in your workflow. However, a Charge Stage cannot be deleted if it has existing associations with other records or transactions in SuiteProjects Pro. Understanding how to identify these associations is essential for maintaining accurate project billing and ensuring Charge Stages can be properly managed or removed when needed.
By identifying the records and transactions associated with a Charge Stage before attempting to delete it, you can prevent errors and make informed decisions about whether to remove those associations or retain the Charge Stage. This approach helps ensure that billing rules, charge projections, and project transactions remain correctly configured.
Example:
- A charge stage being used by 2701 billing rules
- Charge stage linked to 186 charges and 186 billing transactions
Important Steps:
- Navigate to Administration:

- Click Administration > Application Settings > Invoice Settings
- Access Charge Stages:

- Click Charge stages
- Select the Charge Stage:

- Click on the Charge Stage you want to review or delete
- View Associated Records:

- Click the Tips button
- The Tips section will display a summary of all associated transactions
- Example message: “This charge stage cannot be deleted because it is being used by 2701 billing rules, 106 charge projections, 186 charges, 106 recognition projections and 9747 project billing transactions.”
Following this process helps you identify which associations must be removed before a Charge Stage can be deleted. Once all associations are cleared, the Delete button becomes available for the Charge Stage.
