Leveraging the Signer Feature for External Customer Timesheet Approvals
Did you know that NetSuite OpenAir has a feature to allow customers to approve timesheets and expense reports prior to billing?
The Signers feature works as an external approval process for time and expense. Signers do not need any login credentials.
If your customers require approval of time and expense incurred prior to billing, you can leverage the Signers feature within NetSuite OpenAir to accomplish this.
Once you have requested customer support to enable the internal switch “Enable the signers feature”, the Signer feature area will appear on the project properties page as shown below.
You can select up to three signers to receive an email. Each Signer receives an email notification that includes a hyperlinked URL. Clicking on the URL shows the signer a Sign off request form that includes only the time entries associated with the Project that they are associated with, not the entire Timesheet.
As an additional feature the internal switch “All sign offs must be complete before a Timesheet or expense report can be submitted” can be enabled, which then to requires all sign offs to be completed before a Timesheet can be submitted for approval.
